I am a
seniour person with a religious/spiritual background and I find it
good to to have the explanations because that is what we need to
keep us reminded.
Then the
poems and stories speak for themselves. In fact I often take a hymn
and just use it as a theme for prayer.
Using our
celtic imagination it is amazing what can emerge, stories, poems,
dances (even with just our own inner music).

Road

Kavanagh)
On Raglan Road on an autumn day I saw her
first and knew
That
her dark hair would weave a snare That I might someday rue. I saw
the danger
Yet
I walked Along the enchanted way. And I said, let grief be a fallen
leaf
At
the dawning of the day.

Music - Antoine-Auguste-Ernest

What characterises any nation are their songs and
stories. One other
characteristic that is quite unique to Ireland is her number of
blessings. Irish
blessings probably out number all other nations across the world put
together.
Most great stories, great songs and blessings
are written in order to remind you of what it important.
They are written to answer key questions about life.
They invite purpose, passion and real prosperity.
They answer questions such as “Who am I?” and “Why am I
here?”
Ireland is a land apart both physically and
spiritually. There are
parts of her that will always remain wild.
She will not be tamed. She
is happy to invite you into your wildness.
Ireland invites you through her songs, stories and blessings
to live at threshold places of magic and mystery.
This magic and mystery
of Irelands songs, stories and blessings are still being sung and still being told.
These songs and stories contain deeper invitations.
They invite you beyond the known and into the wildness of
heart that is bewilderment. This
wildness invites meaning. It
takes you into a way of seeing beyond your normal way of seeing the
world. It invites you out of any sense of
disheartenment. The Irish have been a great nation of
lamenters and the word lament comes from the root of the word
'care.'
These songs here are heart songs. They are songs that most everyone has heard even if they do
not know them. Included
are links to renditions of these songs that this Irish storyteller
considers invite the heart to cross threshold places beyond our
normal everyday absence of a sense of wonder.
In
Ireland we have a name for this timeless dimension.
We call it the Land of the Forever Young, The Land of Tir na Nog.
This is not just an old Irish story but also an ancient
invitation to the beauty and power of your heart when it is at home.
Stories are told because they get beyond the intellect and
the censor. They lull you into a state where the heart knows what the
head cannot. In such a
state you can become one who is a seer.
You get to see what it means to be the unique creative dance
you are here to be.
Irish
storyteller Tony Cuckson invites you to claim your Irish Heritage
through stories and songs and blessings. There is no
requirement that you be Irish. There is a requirement that you
still wish to feel a sense of beauty at the heart of who you
are. This ebook "An Irish Heritage includes songs
such as Danny Boy, Raglan Road (as sang by the great Luke Kelly of
the Dubliners) and My Lagan Love. These are songs of
inspiration and connectedness a land steaped in the timeless.
In
order to celebrate this heritage of songs, stories and blessings
this Irish storyteller has written an ebook inviting you to celebrate
what it is to be connected to your heart song, your heart story and
your hearts blessing.
You
are likely to know the songs and blessings included in this
book. What you will not know is their deeper invitation of
what the island of Ireland has never quite forgotten in the race
toward less and less time. The
land of Ireland has never forgotten the Land of the Forever Young and never
forgot the hearts life of magic and mystery.
The songs, stories and blessings included in An Irish Heritage
are revelations in their own way.
They invite you to sing the universal song that created you
to be sound in body, mind and soul. Their invitation is layered.
If you take their meaning on a literal level then you may miss the
invitation to feast on your life. Like all great stories, songs and
blessings they can deepen within you if you accept their invitation to
come along the enchanted way.
When you have read An Irish Heritage then the next time you hear the
song Danny Boy let it trigger a remembrance at the heart of
this song. Next time
you hear Lagan Love let it not simply be a remembrance of a
song about a woman who sings a song of heart’s desire.
Next time you hear or read the Irish blessing “May the road
rise up to meet you” let yourself be reminded that the road you
are on called "my life" is more than you might ever imagine it to be.

About
this Book
The
Songs
-
Danny
Boy - The invitation from a father to a son. This song reminds us of our primary purpose. The
purpose of Love expressed in form. Includes links to
song song by Eva Cassidy.
-
My
Lagan Love -
This song is about a stream. This stream is
the flow of your life when you are in love with your
creative ability. It is a life filled with blessing
of all kinds that you are then able and willing to share with
others. In
this way the stream never dries up and the lily fair who
is your true sense of beauty grows. -
the
meaning of what it is to feel called to adventure and the
rewards of the journey.
-
Raglan
Road - As this song by
the great Irish poet Patrick Kavanagh tells us you can be
walking along a city street minding your own business and
it happens.
At any moment you can be called along the enchanted
way. Enchantment can happen at any time and if you
are alive then it should be happening.
The
Stories
-
Return
to Tir Na Nog -
This
story invites you to learn that the land of Tir Na Nog -
the Land of the Forever Young is not just some old Irish
story. This Irish storyteller brings alive the old
Irish stories for modern minds. This story is about
some who wants hasn`t enough time and wants to get her
life back.
-
The
King of the Faeries -
Many
of us are riddled with doubt. We feel we have lost
the magic and mystery we are intended to be. In
Ireland we are aware of treshold places where we can be
invited to remember what is really important. But
what if we fell down the rabbit hole and couldn`t get back
unless we could answer the central question of our lives.
-
The
Stolen Child -
Based
around a poem by the great Irish poet William Bulter Yeats
we enter the story of the child who is called away to the
waters and the wild. In the childs place is left the
changling. What is that changling where you.
The
Blessings
-
The
Blessing of the Road -
This
is a full appreciation of the most common of all Irish
Blessings which begins, "May the Road Rise up to
meet you." This blessings isn`t just about how
you might travel through an Irish landscape. At its
deeper level it invites you to understand the journey of
your life.
-
The
Blessing of Deep Peace -
Deep
peace isn`t something that you learn to get. It is a
state of mind that you tune into. In this modern age
of running ever faster in order to stand still a real
understanding of deep peace will give you more than any
other thing. Why? Because deep peace is a
feeling that goes beyond time.
-
The
Blessing of Wisdom -
We
do not need more knowledge. We need more
wisdom. Wisdom is not something that you acquire
through the intellect but through the heart. This
gives you a different way of seeing the world. You
become and insider rather than an outsider. You become
empowered in the way that creation
intended.
On
each page of this book is a picture. A picture, they
say, paints a thousand words. These pictures will speak
to you on a level beyond intellectual understanding
alone. They are included with the intention that they
open the heart of the blessing you are intended to be.
When this happens then you will want to do one thing.
You will want to share this blessing with others.
Then
a magical thing begins to happen. You will find that the
more you give these Irish Blessings away through song, story
and blessings the more they come back to you. This is
not because you are a bargin hunter but because you are not
attuned to a fundamental law of life and Love. You
become attractive in a very new way and blessings flow.
Included
in this book (available now as a download) are links to all
the songs. These renditions are the best that this Irish
storyteller knows. All these songs can be song
unaccompanied and will make you lots of friends should you
ever feel enchanted enough to sing them to others.
Download
this book now and tune into a heritage full of passionate
song, uplifting story and blessings.
